AiNed gives solid boost to SMEs for development and application of AI

Strengthening the position of SMEs with regard to the development and application of AI is one of the important goals of the AiNed Programme. Part of this support runs through the RVO MIT scheme through a specific AiNed MIT AI call for support of AI projects of innovative SMEs. The importance of this support is evidenced by the high interest of a total of 52 proposals submitted, of which 16 were honored with a total grant budget of €3,550,000. With this, the AiNed Programme provides an important impetus for AI projects for and by SMEs.

The board of AiNed thanks all those who submitted a proposal. The quality of the AI projects submitted is an important indication that a lot of hard work is being done in the Netherlands for the development and application of AI by innovative SMEs.

High quality proposals

The AiNed board warmly congratulates the sixteen selected projects and very much looks forward to the results and their contribution to the development and application of AI in the Netherlands. The awarded proposals represent a nice palette of relevant applications of AI that are relevant to all sectors of our society. For example, AI applications in healthcare, energy, agriculture and food, culture and media, shipping, built environment, education and logistics and mobility. SME support from the AiNed Programme

AI applications contribute directly to economic prosperity, social welfare and solving major societal challenges. SMEs, including many startups, have an important economic and innovative role in this. To bridge the gap for SMEs between the knowledge base and application in AI innovations, SMEs are structurally supported from the AiNed Programme.
